If you know of any great online articles that should be included as a part of the curriculum, please post both a link to the article and where you think it should be included.
I've been subscribed to Before and After, how to design cool stuff for quite a while now it's aimed towards graphic design in general. Since I'm self taught I'm always learning. Another good book is by the author, Robin WIlliams, The Non-Designers Design Book. Links are below
As the degree aims graphic designers that are entering the web design world, don't you think that we should give the users a perspective of development and server side and client side languages and scripts?
Besides the goal being web DESIGN and not DEVELOPMENT, I believe that every web designer is a bit a web developer. What do you think about it? As a developer, I could help with it.
And, on the design side, I've been wondering about warning the users about the web usage of images. I'm not sure (design is only a passion for me, not really my job) that graphic designers don't worry much about the image format, size or colors, and every web designer SHOULD care with it.
I need to get around to adding the additional information area where I would like to post it. I completely agree that web designers are at least a bit web developers, I just think it has been covered far more than design has.
That is why I think outside of the basics it should be covered in detail through other initiatives. Does that make sense? I would love to hear your feedback.
